Sport and Fitness

Whether you’re representing Avondale at UniSport Nationals, competing in a weekly basketball competition, or just cheering on your favourite team—sport brings the Avondale community together.

Avondale offers a range of modern sporting and fitness facilities to staff, students and the general community. With so many individual and team sports available there is something for everyone, no matter what skill level.

Avondale Eagles

Since 2012, Avondale has been a member of UniSport Australia. This allows participation in the UniSport Nationals, Australia’s largest sporting competition for universities.

FitLife Health Club

FitLife offers a variety of health and exercise pursuits that is unmatched in the area. The atmosphere is social and there are a range of fitness classes and programs available such as cycle, fatburner, pilates, circuit, bar, aqua aerobics, step aerobics, boxfit and yoga. FitLife →

Aquatics

Fit Life Health Club’s 25-metre heated pool is warm all year round. With swimming lessons and aqua aerobics classes in the warmer months the pool is a hive of activity. There are always lane’s dedicated for lap swimming as well as free exercise where you can relax take it easy and have fun with your friends and family. FitLife →

Chan Shun Auditorium

This 4.5 million-dollar auditorium and sporting complex accommodates four basketball courts or a mix of basketball, badminton, netball, indoor soccer, and volleyball courts. It has quality fittings throughout with a sprung timber floor.

Jim Hanson Fitness Centre

Adjoining the Chan Shun Auditorium, the Jim Hanson Fitness Centre has four squash courts, a rock-climbing wall, weights gym and foam pit.

Tennis Courts and Sports Fields

Avondale has two full-size tennis courts and four sports fields available for soccer, rugby, touch football, Aussie Rules football and cricket.
